Provincial Tank Lining and Inspections Inc. - Visual Internal Assessment
The following images are from a Visual Internal Assessment in BC, the Fraser Valley District. The purpose of this inspection was to determine a preventative maintenance plan for the client and to supply them with the necessary information (via report with images) to obtain funding for the required maintenance.

Debris and sediment found on the lower part of the Storage Tank. |
Unprotected Manway Cover: The big chunks of cement in the above image are from the manway cover. Portions of the lining protecting the manway cover have fallen off leaving the manway unprotected. The fine particles of cement are from the natural deterioration of the cement lining. The remaining debris is corrosion from the tanks inlets and outlets as well as debris from outside sources.

Debris and sediment surrounding the outlet of a Hot Water Storage Tank. |
Depleted Anode: In this image, you will notice a corroded long thin object just to the bottom left of the outlet. This object is what's left of the magnesium anode designed to protect the inlets and outlets. The anode is well past it's servicing life and has left the inlets and outlets of this tank unprotected for some time. If a DHWST is going to leak...it's going to happen around the inlets and outlets. Regular anode replacement is vital.

Corroded inlet due to lack of Anode protection. |
Corroded Inlet: The above image highlights the importance of regular anode replacement. This inlet has begun to corroded and if no service is performed, it will leak in the future.
