Domestic Hot Water Storage Tanks - Plastic Bushings
WARNING:Some tank manufacturers tried utilizing a plastic/nylon bushing and ground wire when installing anodes at the factory. Over time the plastic bushings would dry out and crack causing the anode to explode off of the tank. This is VITAL to inspect.
We have seen first hand, concrete walls in Boiler Rooms with chunks missing, due to the velocity and impact of an anode following plastic bushing failure. It's scary!
